SUMMARY

Production Planning at Ken’s Foods continues to grow in operational complexity and at its core level will support the business strategy to achieve near perfect customer order fulfillment. Individuals in this role will have to be connected to the business at a micro level and be capable of accepting change in their own planning process for new product additions, capacity constraints and manage the new unique business cases that set us apart from our competition. Throughout all of this change and demand; the scheduling role acts as the hub for multiple departments’ daily direction, weekly planning and is a key part of the departments’ long term success in achieving key KPI targets. A scheduler’s role is more than just composing plans that fulfill customer demand, balancing the operational constraints of our business; the role demands leadership capabilities, good interpersonal skills and a high level of operational creatively to ensure our production facilities can achieve World Class Results.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Plan and structure finite operational plans that maintain our industry leading level of customer fulfillment
  • Build plans across various production lines and packaging types, both short and long term that support multiple KPI’s across the organization (LBS produced, Line Eff%, labor utilization etc.)
  • Must have the ability to build relationships and be in constant communication across multiple supply chain teams (customer service, purchasing, supply chain, logistics and outside vendors)
  • Build plans that balance the Demand and Supply signals pushed to your respective site and influence the setting behind MRP and ATP calculations.
  • Coordinate with supply chain teams on external plant support required for finished goods or materials that are needed to fulfill customer orders
  • Be a change agent for providing site level insight for demand settings that can be manipulated across our ERP that will smooth our demand plans. (Safety stock, days on hand, seasonal sku variation changes)
  • Build a technical competence on plant operations (packaging line and especially on processing constraints). Daily plans must balance the physical constraints, product attributes (allergen, color etc.) and WIP functions so teams are as efficient as possible.
  • Bulk liquid ordering that supports production plans (rail and bulk liquid tankers)
  • The role requires a flexible mindset as plans will change for unforeseen circumstances and this role must lead the process to update production plans
  • Lead the process for reaching out to supply chain teams to influence order positioning or shortages to ensure a high level of product fulfillment.
  • Commitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

 Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) preferred in operations field, or related supply chain field of study.   Relevant experience in demand or supply planning roles highly regarded for this role.  Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Employment with Ken’s Foods is contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, background screening, and pre-employment assessment.
