Packaging Area Coordinator - 1st Shift Monday - Friday - 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Previous packaging machine operation/manufacturing experience strongly encouraged.

Summary

The Packaging Coordinator will coordinate the daily packaging operations with responsibility for safety, product quality, and machine efficiency.  They will be a floor leader driving site metrics and removing obstacles to performance. As a leadership role, the coordinator will assess employee performance and provide effective feedback or training to improve team performance. The Packaging Coordinator will provide vacation coverage for the Packaging Team Leader, work Overtime and Weekends as needed.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute the daily production schedule and remove obstacles to machine efficiency with the team members in the Packaging Area.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to escalate and resolve equipment inefficiencies and implement best practices.
  • Enforce General Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), PPE, and safety rules, as well as plant policy and rules.
  • Enable cross-training and development for team members
  • Facilitate SIC meetings & pre-shift meetings
  • Sustain high standards for housekeeping and sanitation of the packaging department
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification to support shift needs
  • Other duties as assigned

 Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the HACCP policy
  • Uphold Quality standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Ken’s Foods SQF, Security and GMP policies
  • Reporting any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
