SUMMARY

The Sanitation Manager will ensure that all processing and packaging equipment is changed, cleaned and sanitized prior to the following production day.  In addition, the Manager will ensure that all work activities of direct and indirect reports are performed with attention to highest standard of food quality, safe processes, and compliance with all company, customer, and legal requirements. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for guidance and team compliance to SQF certification
  • Manages, evaluates, motivates, and directs sanitation initiatives for plant sanitation department
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety and facility cleanliness
  • Ensures the Sanitation department is OSHA compliant and is responsible for safety and welfare of the employees
  • Supervise all employees for safety adherence, General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and plant rules and regulations
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitizing procedures are completed in compliance with daily/weekly/monthly/ quarterly, semiannual and annual Preventive Maintenance's (PM's), in accordance with the facilities Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Cleaning Performance Checks on Processing and Packaging Equipment (COP)
    • Visual inspection – ATP- Micro Testing
  • Cleaning Performance Checks on Process and Packaging Equipment (CIP) for tank and line circuits
    • Reviewing Graphxx System checking cleaning parameters: Flow, Conductivity, Concentrations, and Temperature
  • Cleaning Performance Checks for Retail and Food Service Kitchen Cookers
  • Audit titrations
  • Review cleaning charts
  • Responsible for managing the Sanitation Department cost centers and budget
  • Maintain the facilities master sanitation schedule
  • Maintain all required documentation within the Sanitation Document Control Program
  • Responsible for any program modification to the CIP systems
  • Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
  • Commitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a safe work environment
  • Other duties as required

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring all Team Members in this department are responsible for the following:
    • Ensure all work is completed in a safe and sanitary manner
    • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security, PPE’s and GMP policies
    • Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
    • Responsible for inspection of work area for any possible product contamination issues before, during, and after sanitation activities.
    • Responsible for completing proper documentation on all cleaning process including chemical concentrations, temperature, cycle times, etc.
    • Responsible for completing pre-start up inspections of your area to ensure no product contamination risk exists and the area is in a sanitary condition.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages directly exempt level team leader and indirectly non-exempt employees in the Sanitation department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
