SUMMARY
The Industrial Painter works in a GMP regulated food manufacturing environment operating under SQF Level 3 standards performing general industrial painting duties to include being able to determine appropriate preparation of surfaces, selection and application of paint and other coatings to equipment and facilities to protect structures and equipment. The candidate we seek must have commercial painting experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Reads work orders and receives instructions to determine work requirements
- Calculates amounts of required materials to accomplish the job most effectively and efficiently.
- Requests supplies both verbally & written
- Prepares various surfaces for painting and other coatings (washing, treating, scraping, burning, sanding, and sandblasting) to ensure finishes will adhere properly; removes fixtures and hardware as necessary; caulks, putties, cements, or plasters holes and cracks.
- Primes and seals to prepare new surfaces for finish coats; uses drop cloths to protects surroundings areas during paint application
- Mixes, matches, and blends chemicals, colors of paint and other coatings to obtain desired consistencies, drying properties, and colors
- Applies paint, epoxy, stains, varnish, enamel and other coatings/finishes to equipment and facilities using brushes, spray guns, rollers, and other applicators.
- Cleans, maintains, and stores tools and equipment; cleans work sites, disposes of paints, solvents, and other hazardous materials used in work
- Erects and uses ladders, scaffolding and equipment as necessary to work above ground level

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have commercial painting experience.
Employment with Ken’s Foods is contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, background screening, and pre-employment assessment.
