The Transportation Coordinator will support Ken’s Transportation Department in an effective and professional manner. The successful candidate enjoys working in a team environment, has good organizational skills, can prioritize and follow through on everyday tasks while working in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should possess solid verbal and written communication skills in their daily activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Communication with internal and external customers; as well as with transportation service providers, food distributors and grocery buyers.
- Schedule customer delivery appointments via telephone, email and through various commercial and proprietary websites.
- Coordinate product returns as instructed while communicating with Ken’s carriers and warehouse facilities.
- Monitor and track Ken’s shipments to ensure timely deliveries to our customers.
- Capture and compile relative data for transportation reporting.
- Research and authorize carrier requests for transportation charges beyond contracted pricing.
- Work cooperatively with other Ken’s Foods departments such as purchasing, production planning, customer service and warehouse operations when necessary.
- Become familiar with our transportation management systems including shipment planning & execution
- Collaborate with a variety of both dry and refrigerated transportation service providers.
- Work efficiently with Microsoft excel, word and outlook.
- Flexibility in performing other duties and projects assigned by department management team.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma is required. Additional college degree and/or courses are a plus.
Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced office environment is valuable. One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employment with Ken’s Foods is contingent upon successful completion of a drug test, background screening, and pre-employment assessment.
