Kens Foods, manufacturer of dressings and sauces, is looking for a second shift Quality Assurance Bench Technician. This is an entry level laboratory position working with product specifications within our manufacturing facility. This position works closely with other departments to ensure that products consistently remain within quality specifications by performing various analytical tests and checks.
The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring that the daily quality testing and activities are carried out in a timely fashion and documented in accordance to company standards.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance to Food Safety; maintain SQF certification through compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain good housekeeping by being inspection-ready at all times
- Test each batch for acidity, salt, viscosity, and color; making sure that they are in specification
- Give correction to any batches that are out of specification
- Test filler before each line start up
- Test finished product for acidity, salt, viscosity, and color every hour
- Inspect labels, codes, and weights on finished products to make sure that they meet quality standard
- Put products on hold that do not meet specifications
- Collect samples for shelf-life and micro-plating
- Calibrate acid and salt titrators daily
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training
- Desire to work with numbers, specifications, and formulas
- Interest in working in a manufacturing lab setting
