ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Assist Corporate Director of Sanitation and Plant Sanitation Manager in team compliance for SQF certification.
• Maintaining overall condition of plant ensuring facility is always “audit ready”.
• Supervise all employees for safety adherence, PPE compliance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and plant rules and regulations.
• Ensure cleaning and sanitizing procedures are completed in compliance for daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly per Preventive Maintenance Schedules (PM's). Maintain “Daily Safety Captain Log Program”.
• Understanding the principles of CIP “Re-Use Systems”: Flow, Conductivity, Temperature, and Time; assuring we are adhering to company standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot CIP tank and line circuitry.
• Knowledge and understanding of all types of chemicals used for all applications on CIP and COP related equipment.
• Insure compliance to Ken’s sanitation policies and procedures.
• Daily Administrative duties include reviewing, verifying and approving CIP Charts, Pre-Op/Daily Check List Sheets, and populating Sanitation Schedule & Variance Control Sheets, completing in detail the EOD (end of day) report.
• Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
• Commitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned


FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Follow all Ken’s Foods SQF, Food Defense and GMP policies.
• Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant.
• Monitor the work area for any possible product contamination issues before, during, and after sanitation activities.

• Assign and work with a team member to perform pre-start up inspections to ensure no product contamination risk exists and the area is in a sanitary condition.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manages Foreperson and employees in the Sanitation department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
