Shipping Coordinator

SUMMARY
The Shipping Coordinator will assist in prioritizing workflow throughout the warehouse in order to meet business needs. The Shipping Coordinator will also aid in clearly communicating with internal/external partners; Identifying key issues and collaborating with operations management team to determine a resolution; Releasing work to the floor, tracking the progress of order and ensure orders are completed in a timely manner.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develop, analyze, modify, and execute to predetermine ship schedules are met for all customers while maintaining a level workload of activity across all shifts
  • Prioritize daily schedule and create reports as needed to monitor, track and measure performance at all levels.
  • Manage pick labels by printing and issuing to specified departments.
  • Work closely with Transportation and Customer Service teams to evaluate truck loads, fill expedite request, and/or change routing.
  • Work closely with Inventory teams to ensure the completion of replenishment to release orders to warehouse floor
  • Work closely with Special Handling to ensure orders are shipped timely
  • Monitor and respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
  • Working knowledge of all operational processes
  • Assist with RF Scanners Assignments
  • Responsible for escalating any system problems which affect workflow and on time shipping
  • Assists co-workers with questions regarding operational processes.
  • Must be able to set and follow through with priorities
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Some working knowledge of Terminal Label Printers and office equipment
  • Flexible to work different shifts if necessary and overtime with little or no notice
  • Comfort and ability to adapt to changing situations with ease
  • May perform other duties as assigned.


FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ship product free of contamination
  • Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies
  • Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant
  • Inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
  • Report any leaking or spilled product immediately
  • Inspect all incoming and out-going loads for signs of product contamination

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before
groups of customers or employees of the organization preferred.


Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract three-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
