SUMMARY
Packaging Line Engineer (AKA Commissioning Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer) is responsible for a wide range of engineering and mechanical tasks related to the successful completion of installation and startup of new packaging lines and processing systems. They will work closely with our Project Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Maintenance Teams to ensure seamless startups of new manufacturing lines.
SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Creating commissioning plans to include staffing requirements, Supply Chain requirements and warehousing for new lines.
· Creation and management of startup and commissioning budgets.
· Creation of F.A.T. testing protocols and all testing and commissioning protocols.
· Manages testing and commissioning activities of new installations.
· Monitor progress and documents line status to the organization.
· Coordinates installation details with Project Engineers and Local Plant Management.
· Ensures that safety systems of the lines are fully functioning. Working with Local EHS, creates LOTO program and other Safety protocols for new lines. and components.
· Work closely with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams to identify opportunities on existing lines and coordinates and manages improvement plan.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
· Bachelor of Science Degree.
o Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Packaging Engineering or Packaging Science Degree Strongly Preferred
· Experience working in a manufacturing or relevant military environment
Travel
· Ability to travel (50-60%) and manage line install and commissioning activities at all four locations (MA, GA, NV, IN) as is required.
Location
· When not traveling, position is based on site at corporate headquarters in Marlborough, MA.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Experience in Food, Beverage, or Dairy industry.
· Direct knowledge of packaging lines including filling, labelling, case handling and palletizing systems.
· Relevant Military experience accepted
