SUMMARY
Due to continued growth and internal promotions, Ken’s Foods is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to Lead our McDonough, GA Manufacturing Team. A qualified candidate will have successful experience managing safety, food quality and employee engagement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Plant Manager is Responsible for all Engineering, Maintenance, Processing, Packaging, Warehousing, Materials/Scheduling, Distribution, Quality Control, Sanitation, and Human Resource activities of the location. Assist corporate management in the implementation of plans to attain Company goals and objectives. EXPERIENCE IN “HIGH-SPEED BOTTLING” PREFERRED.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plant Manager is responsible for leading Safety, Food Safety, People, and Production activities
- Commitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a safe work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to lead Continuous Improvement initiatives that focus on achieving a World Class Manufacturing environment
- Previous experience demonstrating leadership of a Safe Workplace and Food Safety culture
- Working knowledge of SQF or equivalent with demonstrated knowledge specific to implementation and/or maintaining in a manufacturing environment
- Ensures compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, quality and facility cleanliness
- Leads the Quality Assurance activities of the location to ensure product integrity while maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Directs Human Resource activities of the location to insure good relations with Employees and compliance with all state and federal employment laws
- Demonstrated understanding and proven ability to create a culture that embraces employee engagement and participation
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop talent at leadership levels helping build bench strength for the organization
- Coordinates plant activities with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Supports Warehouse and Distribution activities to assure on-time delivery of goods to our customers
- Direct the Engineering and Maintenance activities with focus on maintaining existing plant facilities and equipment; replacing, or adjusting plant facilities and equipment when necessary
- Maintain a direct report to the VP of Manufacturing with a functional dotted line to other corporate management
- Communicate with upper management on trends on plant performance, forecasts for future performances, and other as necessary to advance overall performance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise Employees in the Warehouse, Packaging, Quality Control, Processing, Human Resources, and Engineering and Maintenance Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 10 + years of relevant Food Manufacturing experience.
MBA Preferred.
World Class Manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing including Lean, Business Centered Maintenance, Set Up Time Reduction, Visual Factory, etc…
