SUMMARY

Ken’s Foods is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Master Data Specialist I to support the maintenance, accuracy, and governance of master data within our Syndigo Master Data Management (MDM) platform. This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working with data, business processes, and cross-functional teams.

The Master Data Specialist I will be responsible for data entry, maintenance, validation, and ongoing stewardship of critical master data elements, including Packaging Bills of Materials (BOMs), Finished Goods, and Co-Pack items. The role will work closely with Research & Development (R&D), Supply Chain, Procurement, and other business teams to ensure data changes are accurately reflected in Syndigo and downstream business systems.

This position will also participate in MDM-related projects, platform enhancements, syndication initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts that support Ken’s enterprise data strategy.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

 Master Data Maintenance

  • Create, update, and maintain master data records within the Syndigo MDM platform.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of master data according to established governance standards.
  • Perform routine data validation, quality checks, and audits to identify and resolve data issues.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of Finished Goods, Co-Pack items, and related master data domains.
  • Investigate and correct data discrepancies in collaboration with business stakeholders.

 

Packaging Bill of Materials (BOM) Management

  • Maintain packaging BOMs within Syndigo, ensuring all component relationships are accurately represented.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Packaging teams to understand product and packaging changes.
  • Process and validate BOM modifications resulting from new product development, supplier changes, packaging updates, or cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure approved packaging changes are accurately reflected in master data records and downstream systems.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with R&D teams to understand new product introductions, formulation changes, and packaging revisions.
  • Work with Procurement to capture supplier-related changes impacting packaging components and materials.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to support manufacturing, planning, inventory, and operational requirements.
  • Participate in meetings and business discussions to proactively identify master data impacts associated with process changes.

 

Data Quality & Governance

  • Support data governance initiatives focused on improving data accuracy, standardization, and process compliance.
  • Document data maintenance procedures and business rules.
  • Assist in monitoring data quality metrics and reporting data issues.
  • Follow established controls and procedures for master data creation and change management.

 

Project Participation

  • Support future enhancements and optimization efforts within the Syndigo MDM platform.
  • Participate in Syndigo Syndication platform initiatives and related data enrichment activities.
  • Assist with testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements and new functionality.
  • Contribute to master data projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Support documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing activities related to master data processes

 

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Preferred

  • Experience with master data management, ERP systems, PLM systems, or product information management platforms.
  • Exposure to Syndigo, SAP, Syspro, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), product data, supplier data, and/or syndication data.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Experience participating in system implementations, testing, or process improvement initiatives.

Education and/or Experience

Associate or Bachelor degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

The salary for this position is determined by a combination of experience, skills, and education level. The compensation range is $60k-75k annually.
